It’s been almost a year since we last heard from Aberdeen’s best kept secret, Marionettes. Since releasing their The Rightness Of Blindness EP in April they have been gigging, getting good reviews and generally doing all the things up and coming new bands should do. Today that process continued with the release of their latest single, “Teaparties”.
As with the tracks on Rightness…, “Teaparties” has a sing-a-long-a feeling to it but this is warmer, more summery in tone. Fuzzy indie riffs strum along brightly towards a catchy and energetic chorus and you get the sense that this will be a total live favourite. It is full of bounce, like games on the beach as a BBQ sizzles in the background.
We’ve been digging this for a few weeks now and it shows no sign of losing its appeal. Our only complaint is that we had to wait nearly a year to hear it. Don’t leave it so long next time yeah guys?
“Teaparties” is out now digitally and is also available for pre-order on vinyl.
we love the rat-a-tat-tat smack on the head this delivers, brilliant
