After closing out 2012 with the release of the fantastic hand-clapping, foot-stamping and so-full-of-woo-oo’s-that-it-made-KT Tunstall-jealous “Sinking Ship”, Port Isla are kicking off their 2013 with new single, “Adventurers”.
They’ve gone for an altogether more reserved affair this time out, in that you are not compelled to loudly bang the nearest object with either hand or foot whilst listening to it. So reserved in comparison to “Sinking Ship”, it is still a fast-paced and upbeat piece of folk-pop and one that has been visited and blessed by the God of catchy choruses.
“I just can’t wait ‘til summer” sings Will, and with good reason. “Adventurers” has an outdoors in the sunshine vibe going on, kids running and playing in the fields and in dens. It’s a bright and joyous 3 minutes packed with energy, heart and smiles. Yes, smiles and big ones at that. Big smiles from a bouncing and singing crowd, as surely they will be once this is played live at a summer festival.
”Adventurers” is out now and available for free download from the Port Isla SoundCloud page, and the band are launching the single this Friday (1 March) with a gig at The Birdcage in Norwich.
