With echoes of Kate Bush in her otherworldly, misty vocals, White Prism aka Johanna Cranitch, sings on “Lover’s Dream” with wounded sensuality over an electro-pop track that floats on the breeze like children’s bubbles, drifting and caressing.
The naughtiness expands to an emotional earthiness as well, an eroticism even. The seductive tones of Cranitich mixed with a synthy baseline and slinky melodies give the impression of a classy cinematic love scene. All backlit curtains billowing gently as two silhouettes move together on the four-poster. Think soft sophistication, Cadbury’s Flake adverts, that sort of thing.
“Lover’s Dream” feels luxurious, with rich, gooey chocolate dessert kinds of indulgent naughtiness and we can’t help but keep going in for another mouthful.
