Here we go then. 24 hours of virtually non-stop blogging to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Hopefully, if everything goes as planned, we should have some very special posts coming up over the course of this blogging marathon. Our inbox is already bursting with tracks but we are also going to be off finding some new music ourselves from all over the internet. We also hope to be chatting online to one or two people and will share the results later in the day.
As you read this we are already off, crafting our first post of many to come. If you are wondering exactly what this looks like and how it will work, here are some answers.
These are the rules / facts:
All content will be created and published during the 24 hours. There will be no pre-scheduled blog posts.
Posts won’t be cropping up every 5 minutes as we’ll searching for great new music, listening to it and researching the artist if they are unknown to us. In fact this is where most time will be spent – writing the post is the end output. That takes the shortest amount of time.
Any music posted that comes to us via the email in-box from a PR company or band directly will not simply be a copy and paste of a press release. We will write our own content, just like we always have done.
We will only post music that we like. Unless we get desperate and run out, in which case we reserve the right to delete this rule and post any old crap, blaming tiredness and desperation as we do so.
Not every post will be a new music post. We’ll be breaking up the ‘churnover’ with discussion pieces and anything else that takes our fancy as well as (hopefully) a couple of very special posts with exclusive new music/content from friends of the blog.
Not every post will be as long as our normal posts. Particularly at 4.30am. We reserve the right to just bash out a couple of lines and then upload.
If you are a PR company or band and we feature something from you and we feature it, it would be great if you would donate a couple of quid using the buttons below. Is this bribery? If it is we really don’t care, after all it’s for a good cause.
We’ll occasionally tweet about what we’re doing using the #blogathon as well as talking to our partner in madness, Breaking More Waves, to help keep us both awake.
We will be having breaks as we reserve the right to go to the toilet when necessary and to eat food (not at the same time mind you). If anyone in Norwich wants to swing by with chocolate or other tasty goodness, they are very welcome to do so. Also to avoid RSI we’ll be taking regular breaks to exercise our hands and walk around a bit.
Whilst we’re doing all this blogging, if you haven’t already done so, you will give us money, which goes directly to Cancer Research UK. THAT IS THE RULE.

Here’s a song from the Broods EP, which is stunning. See you soon with our first proper Blogathon post.
