Hailing from sunny Hertfordshire, Eutony is a new four piece band that may or may not be named after a method of self-development established in Denmark. We doubt it somehow. We do know that they have some of the best names we’ve seen in music for a while comprising as they do Ken Petalcorin, Jacob Cable, Callum Alder and Erin Valenzuela. And, if that wasn’t enough, they also list ‘jar of rice’ as one of their instruments.
Yes, a jar of rice.
Currently working on an EP, their debut tune “Spectrum” is a lively piece of electronic infused indie-rock, with elements of Two Door Cinema Club meshed in there for good measure. It’s full of energy like a primary school sports day, where the events are more geared to fun than competition. The guitar bounces against vocals in a sack race while the jar of rice is the egg on a bouncing spoon of rhythm and youthful exuberance. Exuberance which “Spectrum” has in abundance and which we feel a little bit low on right now (with nine hours still left to write), good job we can play it to help lift our spirits.
We’re off to dance around the kitchen while the kettle boils, you listen and donate to Cancer Research.
