Having committed to getting the site back up and running properly and writing with something approaching regularity, we are trying to be a bit more organised and plan things out a bit more. Sadly, like New Year’s resolutions, it hasn’t taken us long to fail miserably in our attempt to improve our planning. In fact, we really missed a trick at the start of this Brand New year, with our Brand New commitment to writing and a Brand New desire and work ethic. We really should have opened up with Dano’s Brand New pop banger, which is, appropriately, called “Brand New”.
Still better late than never.
The Norwich based soul-pop artist burst on to the scene with her superb debut single last year and immediately captivated us with the dark, emotive and infectious sounds of “Your Love”.
Follow up single “Brand New” grabs you from the off. It yanks you onto the dance floor with an energy and vibrancy that is irresistible. Elements of Gaga and early nineties dance (think Strike and Baby D) combine with rapid fire beats and a full on glowsticks-in-the-air keyboard line. It’s got a massive summer club vibe to it, full of a bounce and euphoria that would have crowds jumping in ecstatic glee. Perfect for a Monday morning…
